IMF Rankings
[edit]Please make Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and Puerto Rico unranked (omit the number from the Rank column) in the latest IMF table just as in the other two tables.
Taiwan figure from CIA is not accurate
[edit]Taiwan's GDP per capita ($24502) is real GDP, not PPP.
Note on Mexico
[edit]Mexico is located in North American, not Central America.
Why is the 2010 data being used for Syria?

Table sorting
[edit]I've just updated the October 2024 figures by hand, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to default sort the table by these figures. Really hoping I don't lose my work and can learn how to do this! Thanks in advance Garganito (talk) 17:35, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for fixing it @Dhyana b. Was it just a case of manually updating the ranking numbers in the table. I just thought of this doh Garganito (talk) 09:45, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @Garganito ! Yes, it was manual, but no - unfortunately it wasn't a case of simply updating ranking numbers... As there is no automation in the code for it, you have to manually cut-paste the entire table entry in the desired order you want it displayed as. It's a tedious process that took me a while. About contentious edits
[edit]The two edits on this page, 03:26, 23 October 2024 and 11:55, 23 October 2024 change the Taiwan's position, which has been maintained for several years up until oldid=1252769829. I would argue that these controversial edits should be reverted, and I would raise a discussion about it. Related discussion has been going on in pages such as List of countries by GDP (nominal), but no conclusion has been reached for a long time. However, the change is still in place without any consensus being reached. Minchuchui (talk) 12:51, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, I'm the one who took out the special rendering of the Taiwan & Kosovo entries, when I updated the table. I noticed it was different from the List of countries by GDP (nominal) per capita and it's not supposed to be - these are mirror pages. It is *not* true that Taiwan was excluded from the ranking for several years, as only a few months ago I remember it was ranked - or certainly last year. It looks like someone excluded it without having a discussion first. Dhyana b (talk) 14:59, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- I appreciate your reply.
- There are four main Wikipedia pages with data on GDP published by the IMF: GDP, PPP, GDP per capita, and PPP per capita.
- Of course, all articles are sorted by the order of the data published by the IMF, so the ranking should be uniform across all articles at the same time.
- Perhaps the GDP per capita page has not changed its ranking treatment for a long time. The ranking within all four of the above pages should be consistent. Minchuchui (talk) 02:51, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
- I would like to add a few words that may have been a bit misleading.
- For example, Taiwan and Kosovo. In the article,
- PPP and GDP per capita; they are ranked.
- GDP and PPP per capita; they are not ranked.
- It is shocking to see such a lack of uniform standards among similar articles.
- All of hese should be replaced with the same treatment, but I would like to ask which one or whether we should establish a new unified standard.
- In my opinion, something that aligns with the GDP per capita or PPP page would be the least controversial. That is, regardless of the controversy over whether it is a country or a region, the ranking would be based on whether or not the IMF data is available. Minchuchui (talk) 03:05, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
Russia
[edit]1) Link from this page leads to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Income_in_Russia while it has to lead to the general article about Russia's economy (just as with other countries) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Russia 2) Also, according to data for 2024, Russia has GDP PPP between $40000 and $50000, while on the map it is reflected as country with GDP PPP between $30000 and $40000. Probably correction is needed. Jayankondar (talk) 20:43, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
- i updated the map. it is visible under wikimedia commons page. can you help me so that it will be visible on the main page? Alcame011 (talk) 10:50, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
Republic of Congo and Cameroon not updated in map
